Alpine Climbing
With Alpine climbing we refer to ice faces and more or less mixed routes high up in the Andes. Besides the granite areas listed below rock climbing, the Central Andes have little to offer what we could call a good rock. However, Cerro El Morado and Alto Los Leones are reported to be of acceptable quality. Good classic ice and mixed routes are found in the valleys of Casa Piedra and El Morado. A particularly beautiful mountain is the Cerro Aparejo, however, partly made up of gypsum. Cerro Iglesias offers ice couloirs.
