CERRO APAREJO 4800m

This pretty nice peak is well seen from the road. From down there it resembles a perfect pyramide. Getting closer it builts up to an enormous face rising more than 1000m above the bergschrund, culminating in a vertical summit triangle. The rock turns out gypsum which, where not held together by a good cover of ice and snow, has to be climbed with crampons. The backside is entirely different: flat and an easy descent. Ice couloirs have been seen in the left part of the face.
