CASA PIEDRA 4500m

The valley of Casa Piedra is a short tributary valley to the lake of Embalse El Yeso. It is certainly one of the more interesting areas with respect to classic-style ice and mixed climbing. You can reach it in one day. Generally the rock is far from being good, but there is stuff much worse, e.g. the gypsum rocks of Aparejo in the next valley. The pillars of Casa Piedra are particulary beautiful (seen from far) and have been climbed by J.Straub from Germany. The snow/ice season is good only until begin of January.
