MAPS AND GUIDEBOOKS

Detailed but expensive maps on different scales can be obtained from the Instituto Militar, Dieciocho 369, Centre of Santiago. Good tourist and outdoor maps on the scale 1:500.000 and lower are produced by JLM Cartografía, and can be bought in book and climbing stores in Santiago. These maps are currently the best information about outdoor activities in Chile.
