This is the highest active volcano in the world, situated in one of the most arids pieces of land on the earth. Many people do it for aclimatization before heading to Aconcagua. The place is unique, having plenty of natural atractions like world class thermal springs, lagoons, native and pinturesque flora and fauna, moon-like landscapes and virgin mountains, only for numbering some of the appealing features which are present.

The ascent does not demand technical habilities but good physical shape and proper aclimatization process are essential as well as adequate clothing, it is pretty cold. For more information and many other volcanoes see also www.southsummits.cl
