Cerro Tres Monjas (Futaleufú)

This area is a series of granite peaks and needles near Futaleufú, the town of the famous white water river. The first climbers up there are reported to have been the Argentinians Guy Costa and Pedro Fina together with the Catalonian Oscar Medel in 2001. • Location: Northern Patagonia, near the town of Futaleufú river, a 100km from Chiloé
• Access: from Esquel in Argentina or Chaitén in Chile to Futaleufú, from there on trails to base
• Characteristics: Granite climbing until 400m in glaciated region
• Routes: 1
• Grades: until 5.10
• Characteristics: most of it unclimbed, often bad weather
• Equipment: rapps in place, take plenty of gear
• Season: summer only
